In the 2018 Small Animal programme, the orthopaedics stream will focus on joint replacements, current and future directions for forelimb and hindlimb, osteoarthritis including managing chronic pain and joint resurfacing, and arthroscopy including use of minimally invasive and fluoroscopy in fracture repair.
The science stream will include auditing, checklists, surgical ethics, statistics, biomechanics and applying veterinary based medicine.
The soft tissue programme will feature a one health human-veterinary medicine concept, a multidisciplinary and holistic approach to tackling Brachycephalic breed associated conditions and microvascular surgery including principles, flaps, vascular grafts and malformations.
When planning your days and lectures, the Programme Committee invites you to not only look into your own speciality's programme: Watch out for the little Look outside the box hints in the programme, of which you will find at least one per day in the small animal programme; here the Programme Committee recommends lectures and streams from the large animal programme, which are of interest to small animal delegates, too.
