Recertification for Diplomates

This section applies to Diplomate recertification only. Please find information about Training Programme recertification further below.

Contact Information

Please direct all correspondence pertaining to Diplomate recertification at [email protected]. This will ensure that your message reaches the right person and can also be dealt with in case of personal absences.

Phone: +41 (0)44 635 94 07

The deadline for recertification submissions is 31st July.

All Diplomates due to recertify should read the recertification guidelines and will receive several reminders before their deadline. The online recertification form is accessible in your 'your ECVS' area. Once logged on, please scroll down to 'Your Recertification Status' to access your recertification tools.

From 2024 onwards, the two previously required reference letters will be replaced with a self-declaration form. The self-declaration form (PDF) must be submitted together with the online recertification form. The template is also available for download directly from the online recertification form (accessible via 'your ECVS').

COVID-19 Recertification Guidelines: Due to the restrictions the COVID-19 pandemic has caused, particularly with reductions in surgical case-loads and cancelled meetings, there are revised guidelines for those recertifying this year and for the subsequent years through to 2024. Everybody who is due to recertify in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 may choose to either postpone recertification for one year or be allowed a six rather than the customary five years recertification period.
