The 33rd Annual Scientific Meeting will again be offered as a hybrid congress. For planning purposes, all delegates need to indicate whether they plan to participate on-site or online*). This preference can be changed any time up until the very start of the congress. On-site delegates will have access to all online content as well.
Additionally, each delegate will now be asked to indicate their primary area of interest in the registration form. The options will be orthopaedic, neurology or soft tissue for Small Animal delegates and orthopaedic or soft tissue for Large Animal delegates. This information will merely be requested as a rough indication as to which streams can be expected to be most popular to help us allocate room capacities. It will certainly not be a binding registration, and each delegate will always be able to freely choose which lectures to attend on-site.
*) For ECVS Diplomates, online participation counts toward recertification as well.

This year’s exciting programme includes our first ‘shaping the future’ session which will include talks by recognised experts on feedback, leadership and mental health in a clinical environment. 2024 also sees the ECVS continue our biennial collaboration with the Veterinary Endoscopic Society (VES) and includes discussion on a variety of topics including thoracoscopic thoracic duct ligation using near infrared technology, extrahepatic shunt ligation and diaphragmatic rupture repair. This minimally invasive theme will be supported by talks on interventional radiography including chemoembolization and stent placement. We will also have an oncology stream including sessions considering nasal surgery, lymph node extirpation and maxillectomy / mandibulectomy.
Our 2024 Small Animal orthopaedic stream includes an in-depth series of lectures looking at cutting edge strategies for total hip arthroplasty and updates on arthroplasties involving other joints. Strategies and techniques in mandibular and maxillary fracture reconstruction are also included in the orthopaedic stream as is a series of talks looking at current techniques for managing OCD ranging from traditional to cutting-edge.
Our third small animal stream, neurology, will include lectures on lumbosacral stenosis, nerve transfer, spinal meningioma and cervical spondylomyopathies.
