Surgical Assistant position with the option for an ECVS Residency in Large Animal Surgery (Equine)
in the Clinic for Horses, University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover

The Clinic for Horses is a state of the art facility with a mixed caseload of soft tissue and orthopaedic cases, including emergencies. Supervision by Diplomates in all clinical and non-clinical specialties is ensured.
Area of responsibility
This ECVS residency program involves the day-to-day diagnostic work-up and treatment of surgical and orthopaedic patients. Participation in regular emergency duties including nights and weekends is expected (surgical, orthopaedic, and internal medicine emergencies). This position also requires involvement in both theoretical and practical education of veterinary students. Adequate time for clinical research and continuing education will be allowed.
Recruitment requirements
graduation from a veterinary school with grades above average
completion of a one-year rotating internship program or equivalent practice experience of 2 years
completion of an advanced academic degree is desirable but not a requirement
adequate knowledge of the German language to be able to effectively communicate with clients, students, and technical staff
good command of the English language
